New Boots!!

For a while now I have been looking for the perfect pair of black flat leather boots, being quite tall (I'm 5'9) i didn't want a pair of heeled boots and finding a pair ASOS Sale of flattering flat boots has proven difficult thus far.

However i was found these great black leather stirrup boots in the sale for £47 down from £95.

They are really great quality with soft smooth leather and although I was a little dubious of the stirrup detailing, I actually really like that they are not completely plain. They do have a very small heel but its hardly noticeable.

I plan to wear them with black jeans and floaty dresses until summer strikes.

DIY Dip Dye Denim

Denim is having a resurgence this summer and there are a lot of bleached and customised denim hitting the streets.

So i thought i would have a go myself. I found this plain denim shirt (see before pic below) in H&M for 14.99 and decided to dip bleach the bottom.

It was quite easy to do, all you need is some strong white bleach, a tub or bucket, rubber gloves and water.

Wet the shirt where you want it to be bleached and set it aside.
Wearing the gloves mix the bleach with the water, i ended up using the whole bottle of bleach with 5 parts water.
Then dip the shirt into the bleach and leave the top part that you want to remain blue hangin over the top.

I originally wanted the bottom to turn a light blue not white but the shirt rose out of the bleach and turned white in patches so i had to weigh it down to keep it all consitently in the bleach.
If you want a light blue I'd recommend leaving it in the bleach for 1-2 hours - check after an hour.
If you want to bleach the bottom white then bleach the shirt for 3- 4 hours or longer.

I wanted to dye the collar tips too so i diped these into the bleach at the end and left them to turn light blue.

Then once you are happy with the colour squeeze the bleach out and wash the shirt as usual in the washing machine and hang to dry.

Can you Kick It?

Happy New Year everyone,
I thought I would kick start the new year with my New Year Wish List, or my New Year obsession more to the point.
2012 is set to be the year for sports luxe and you will be seeing Olympic proportions of sport wear this year (get it!) and what better way to jump into this trend than with a pair of these gorgeous Isabel Marant trainers.

Everything you could possibly want in a trainer from popping colour to a concealed wedge. If you are actually attending the Olympics these will be very on point paired with some jogger bottoms and a simple tee.

These are definitely my new year lust and if there is anyone out there that has a pair that needs taking off their hands i will be happy to help out. Just let me know ok!

Mad Hatter

I love love love kooky head wear - my favourite at the moment are animal beanies and I will no doubt be adding one of these beauties to my bear beanie collection. All of the above are from River Island - which is why I love River Island - because it doesn't take fashion to seriously and especially when the weather turns nasty pulling on one of these furry fellas is bound to lighten the mood, or at least give passers by something to smile about.

Buy my favourite of the lot the Boys Owl Beanie at River Island

Do it like a Lady

Lady Like Chic

Pencil skirts, pussy bow blouses and polka dots, yes Lady like Chic is back and making quite an impression on my work wear wardrobe. Its a trend that has been triggered by the recent obsession with the TV series Mad Men. Think nipped in waists and hourglass silhouettes.

I'm usually found in skinny jeans and comfy cardies but the recent interest in pencil skirts and perhaps the cold weather has had me turning to a smarter approach to work.
Pencils skirts paired with flouncy blouses look glam but are effortless to pull off. Heels add an extra wow factor but in my opinion this look looks great with flat pumps too, although the pencil skirt wobble (the walk you are forced to partake in when wearing a tight pencil skirt) does look so much sexier in heels.

I've already purchased the fuchsia angora wool bow detail jumper above from Topshop and I already have a growing collection of chiffon blouses and pencil skirts. Hand me that Mulberry satchel and I'll be ready sashay into the office.

Dotty about Dalmation

Dalmation

It is almost a year since my last post and unsurprisingly in my last post I was blogging about winter wear. I love winter and love wrapping up in layers, pulling on boots and thick winter coats.

This year my fascination is with the new animal print - Dalmatian. But before you jump to images of Cruella Deville, no actual Dalmatians are harmed in this seasons trend.

Dalmatian print is giving leopard a run for its money and is popping up in everything from nail art to ankle boots.
Keep it simple with these Dalmatian print slippers from Topshop and pair with a polka dot blouse and black leather leggings.

I love Winter Warms

AW10

AW10 by RBell featuring beanie hats

So it has been a while since I last posted in August, and as you may imagine I have now resigned the flirty summer dresses and short shorts to the storage cupboard and embraced again my winter woolies.

Maybe being born in winter (I'm a Decemember born) is the reason why I delight in thick scarfs, wool coats and knitted pom pom hats. I just cant get enough and to kick off my new posting I have made a mood board of all the winter gems I am loving or lusting over at the moment. From Burberry's shearling jacket to the return of fairisle knits here are my top winter treats.

I just love this Burberry shearling jacket, its the coat of the season and I heart the cute Topshop pom pom hat. I'm also have a moment with leopard print and Louboutin - a match made in heaven and these little booties are both sexy and cosy looking - if only I could walk in 5 inch heels (and money was no object) they would be mine!
